Traits That Distinguish Mindful Bosses From Clueless

Being mindful is one of the skills we reinforce in our Morph Management Group, Inc. training. We encourage our people to be focused and attuned to what is going on around them in preparation for leadership. Studies have shown that managers who are mindful are more effective than those who are oblivious to their surroundings. Here are some ways to practice mindfulness each day:

• Focus on the Person: Listening to others with the intent to understand is a skill that takes practice. In our Morph Management Group, Inc. collaborative environment, we emphasize giving each other full attention when we are discussing a solution. This means putting away technology and not allowing interruptions. When we do this, we show respect to other people and their ideas. We can also learn a thing or two.

• Thoughtful Decisions: Leaders who are mindful are more informed because they are paying attention to their surroundings. In our Morph Management Group, Inc. culture, thoughtful decisions are those that are based on facts and are in the best interest of the people most impacted.

• Take Time to Meditate: To be in tune with others, we first need to be in touch with ourselves. Daily meditation allows us to reflect on what we value, appreciate our blessings, and identify what we need to do to move forward.
